Brickago is a youth-led nonprofit that turns unused bricks into creative opportunities for kids across Chicago – and leadership opportunities for the teens who run our programs. Through the Leadership Corps and Piece Corps, our teen leaders organize community events with youth volunteers and local partners to sort, wash, and repackage donated bricks for distribution.
By doing work that sparks imagination in others, our teens build real-work skills, confidence, and the experience to lead.
Watch how Horizons for Youth partnered with Brickago to bring their Big Sibs and Little Sibs together for "Make and Take" event.
We want your mostly assembled space-ship with a missing wing, that tub of loose bricks in our basement, a forgotten masterpiece sitting on a shelf, or a fresh un-opened box.
Brickago was founded by a group of life-long friends who share a love for building sets and giving back to the community. This group of teenagers, their friends, and their friends’ friends are the driving force behind Brickago and its incredible growth.
